Length of activity

If you are considering sailing for the first time, we can offer you a Taster Day, an ideal way for your group to 'test the water.' Many groups think in terms of weekend bookings. While we are very happy to accommodate these and realise there may be no other option, we urge you to think in terms of longer activities if at all possible. Whilst a weekend away is a really worthwhile experience, the full benefits of adventure sailing really begin to appear after four or five days. A full week or more is even better.

Numbers

Aboard Morning Star of Revelation we provide the skipper and two mates, leaving a maximum of 11 places for your group and leaders. We recognise the difficulties group leaders often face when trying to fill all the spaces and the reluctance some may have to take on the financial responsibility of a boat charter when members of the group drop out late in the day. Officially, a group leader must cover the full charter price of the boat but we are willing to consider individual circumstances and offer a modest price reduction if appropriate.

As Dayspring is much smaller than Morning Star of Revelation, you only need a skipper leaving a maximum of five places. If you are planning on booking a group for a week or more, however, we may provide a 1st mate. Please note that filling the boat to capacity can make her rather overcrowded. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Morning Star group charter costs

The table shows the charter price for Morning Star of Revelation assuming a group of 11 paying guests. Morning Star Trust offers subsidised rates for crew members aged between 15 and 25. If a group is less than 11 the cost per person (pp) will increase. Group numbers are often not certain at the time of booking, in which case the 20% deposit can be based on your best guess at the time. For longer periods charges are calculated pro rata, using the seven day rate. Prices include meals and refreshments, oil skins, sea boots and VAT where applicable.
