Home of the tall ship Morning Star of Revelation and the training yacht Dayspring
Morning Star of Revelation is a 62ft gaff ketch yacht and is the flagship of the Trust. She can set up to eight sails at one time on her two masts and was purpose built for sail training; this ensures plenty of work to occupy a full crew of 14. She can sail in almost any conditions, anywhere, anytime.
When you arrive you will be welcomed by a small leadership team of three who will be looking after you throughout your voyage.
The Skipper has overall command and is responsible for both the boat and crew throughout the voyage. All our skippers are experienced sailors, having developed through the ranks of the Trust, and are qualified to at least RYA Yachtmaster Offshore and are commercially endorsed.
The 1st Mate is the skipper's right hand person, able to take charge of the boat should anything happen to the skipper. All our 1st mates are qualified to at least RYA Coastal Skipper and are commercially endorsed.
The 2nd Mate serves as an extra hand, undertaking tasks such as watch leader under the supervision of the skipper. He or she will be familiar with the yacht's equipment and operating systems and be tasked with looking after the well-being of the crew, catering and domestic duties. All our mates hold the RYA Day Skipper qualification.
Morning Star of Revelation holds a Small Commercial Vessel Certificate and is fitted with a wide range of equipment including: GPS, colour chart plotter/radar, DSC VHF radio, MF long range radio, satellite communication system and Navtex weather information system.
